Kibble To Homemade
Depending on the age and sensitivity of your dog, time needed to transition your dog from industrial dry kibble to homemade food can vary. On average, it takes about one to two weeks.
To make kibble to homemade food transition smooth, we advise moving step-by-step as described in the suggested transition schedule below. There is no need to rush. Like any new food, it’s important to introduce it to your dog in small amounts to see if they tolerate it well.
Most dogs should transition without problems. Dogs with sensitive digestive system could experience some temporary discomfort while going through the transition. Discomfort symptoms may include upset stomach and loose stool, amongst other symptoms, and should improve after a few days. If your dog is experiencing such discomfort, scale back the percentage of new homemade food to old food, and move with the transition schedule slower.
Suggested Transition Schedule

4-6 60% 40%
